Rules
The Rules
❁ Due to the nature of this game you must be age 18 or over to play.
❁ For the same reason, no characters under the age of 17 are permitted to join the game.
❁ No unruly or cruel behaviour. The entire aim of this game is to be a relaxed, friendly, drama-free place to roleplay. We reserve the right to remove anyone from The Ton if they show a lack of respect to other players, whether inside the game or outside of it or if they otherwise create a hostile environment in any way. This includes but is not limited to bullying or harassment or disregard for others' boundaries.
❁ No discriminatory behaviour ie. sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism or racism. Any behaviour of this ilk will result in an immediate ban.
❁ We reserve the right to bar individuals from joining if we are aware of any previous problematic behaviours on their part, particularly if they fall within any of the above categories.
❁ This is a wank free zone. There is a zero tolerance policy towards those who post to anon comms at the expense of another player or the mod team. Be mature.
❁ No god-modding or info-modding. Fourthwalling is permitted but only if the other party involved is agreeable and only if it makes sense for your particular character to do so eg. someone like Deadpool or basically the entire cast of Gintama.
❁ Please employ the use of content warnings to mark extreme violence, sex or any other potentially triggering material.
❁ We do not allow the apping of real people - however fictionalised versions of them are permitted, some examples being Leonard da Vinci from Da Vinci's Demons or Sokrates from Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
❁ Generally speaking we do not allow canon OCs with a few limited exceptions. Fan made characters who have a direct relationship with any of a series' canon characters and therefore are in a position to influence the main storyline (friend, cousin, child of, spouse etc) are strictly not allowed in the game. However, MMO and tabletop characters, as well as malleable protagonists are permitted. If you are unsure whether your character fits within these exceptions then please do check with the mod team first.
❁ Try and stay active. Our activity check requirements are very relaxed, however if you fail the activity check 3 times then you will not be able to reapply for a month.
❁ IC =/= OOC. There should be a disconnect between the player and their character ie. just because your character is a dick to someone else does not mean you should be.
❁ The mods reserve the right to decline an invitation request from anyone, for any reason, without the need to provide justification for this decision.
❁ Players already in game can extend 2 invitations per month.
❁ Please, please, please ask mod permission before having your character engage in anything major that will affect the game as a whole or the environment of Andovale. We're talking drastic stuff here such as planning a coup against Pheme or causing some change in the environment that will affect it and possibly other characters in game, like blowing up a building or attacking/hurting NPCs.
❁ The Ton has a self-report Reputation Rewards system in place. Whilst players are under no obligation to spend either their reward or punishment point/demerits, they are obligated to report character behaviours and to engage with this system properly. If we find that a player is taking advantage of this system and not reporting on behalf of their character, then we, the mod team, reserve the right to take action. Whether that be with a formal written warning or, in more extreme cases, immediate removal from the game.
